– EVENT POSTPONED –
It is with a heavy heart that we must announce that our training session this Friday is postponed. Our colleague and trainer, Michael Lingerfelt FAIA, passed away suddenly in his sleep. We will reschedule the session for a future date later this summer.
AIA Gainesville is hosting a SAP (Safety Assessment Program) Training session for our membership and community at the Gainesville Golf and Country Club on Friday, May 11, 2018.
Note: Original event has been postponed; A new date has not yet been set for the event.
Post-disaster Safety-Assessment Program (SAP) training provides architects, engineers, and building inspectors with the knowledge to provide evaluations of facilities and buildings in the aftermath of disaster.
This full day, in person, all-hazards, training course will include SAP Building Evaluator Manual. Attendees will receive one field manual from the Applied Technology Council (ATC). After successful training, eligible individuals will earn a California-issued registration ID card. This nationally recognized certification is often required training for volunteer building safety evaluators nationwide.
6.5 AIA HSW CEU’s will be earned 2-3 weeks after course completion.
We have accommodations for 35 people and this is open to architects, building code officials, geotechnical, civil and structural engineers, so sign up early to reserve your spot. Registration fee is $120 for AIA members and $135 for non-AIA members. The registration cost will cover our trainers time and travel expenses. AIA Gainesville is offsetting some trainer expenses and will provide lunch and munchies. Payment can be made via PayPal, or check to AIA Gainesville in advance of the event.
